Can I substitute cashews for macadamia nuts?


Hi Joy,
I don’t really like macadamia nuts and they are very expensive in northern Manitoba. My question is can you substitute them for cashews.
I am really enjoying rocking body raw.


Certainly!  Cashews are a fabulous substitution for macadamia nuts.  The have only a slightly more oily texture, so if you ever feel that the recipe could use a bit more oil- simply add a dash of olive oil. Some people also feel that macadamias lend themselves to the mock-cheese flavor better than cashews. I don’t feel this way, but I bump up the “cheesiness” by adding a bit of nutritional yeast to satisfy those who do.

    Hi Joy! How long can you keep these nut mixtures in your fridge along with the other recipes?
    BTW: Love your videos! Very organized! and you keep me from getting overwhelmed! Thank you!
    Also can you do some video using the left overs from a juicer (I too use a Breville)

    I don’t keep nut mixtures longer than 5 days. I don’t have videos on using the pulp because the pulp is not consistent, so you really have to play it by ear based on what you’ve got. Thank you for your question and for being here with me in the Rocking Body Raw Food course.
